Early Childhood Programs (6 weeks to 3Â years old)
During the first 3 years of life, your child develops more rapidly than at any other time. During this phase, your child absorbs large amounts of information from the environment through observation and experiences. These are the years that lay the foundation for later learning – and the stronger the foundation, the more the child will be able to build upon it.
Infant Program (6 weeks to 18 months)
At Lakeside Montessori Academy, our infant program incorporates the award-winning Frog Street Infant curriculum. The curriculum is designed to support early brain development with a strong focus on language, motor skills, social-emotional development, and sensory exploration. We incorporate baby sign language to strengthen early communication. This research-based program offers intentional, loving interactions that build trust and security. Our nurturing teachers guide each baby’s development through engaging activities, music, and daily routines that foster curiosity and connection.
Toddler Class (18 months to 3Â years)
During this sensitive stage of development, children are naturally driven to explore language, movement, social interaction, and independence. Our Montessori classroom environments are thoughtfully designed to support these needs with purposeful, hands-on activities and age-appropriate materials. Children learn through self-directed exploration with teacher guidance, gaining confidence, focus, and skills through positive experiences.
Montessori Primary (3 years to 6 years)
At Lakeside Montessori Academy, our Montessori classrooms are thoughtfully prepared environments where children are encouraged to explore, discover, and grow at their own pace. Guided by highly trained Montessori educators, each child is supported as a unique individual, with learning experiences tailored to their interests, abilities, and developmental needs.
Our hands-on approach engages children in meaningful work using specialized Montessori materials that promote concentration, coordination, and independence. These materials invite exploration and build foundational skills in language, math, science, and practical life—all while nurturing curiosity and creativity.
Children are free to choose their activities within a structured setting, fostering intrinsic motivation and a love of learning. As they grow in confidence and ability, they also develop important social-emotional skills such as cooperation, empathy, and responsibility. The result is a joyful, respectful, and empowering beginning to their educational journey.
Montessori Kindergarten
Montessori Kindergarten
Kindergarten is the culmination of the Montessori Primary experience—an important year when everything comes together. In this final year of the Primary program, students take on leadership roles in the classroom, deepen their understanding of academic concepts, and strengthen their problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills. They work on advanced math, reading, writing, science, and cultural studies, using Montessori materials that make abstract ideas concrete and accessible.
Kindergarten students are assessed regularly to ensure they meet and exceed academic benchmarks. They are encouraged to set goals, reflect on their work, and take ownership of their learning. By the end of the year, they are not only academically prepared for elementary school, they are independent thinkers, compassionate classmates, and confident learners ready for the next stage of their educational journey.
Montessori Lower Elementary Program (Grades 1–3)
The Lower Elementary classroom at Lakeside Montessori Academy is designed to promote independent learning, critical thinking, and a deep love of knowledge. The environment is organized into key academic areas including mathematics, geometry, language arts, grammar, physical science, history, geography, botany, zoology, and technology. Students are guided through a rich, rigorous curriculum with hands-on materials that encourage exploration and mastery.
Instruction is personalized, with lessons presented individually or in small groups based on each child’s readiness and interests. Repetition and self-paced practice lead to skill development and lasting understanding. Teachers closely monitor progress through ongoing assessments and detailed observation. Student growth is measured against clearly defined benchmarks, which are routinely met—and often exceeded—by our learners.
Our expectations are high, and students consistently rise to the challenge. Lakeside’s Lower Elementary students are known for being academically advanced, motivated, and confident. In addition to academic preparedness, the program fosters independence, intrinsic motivation, social responsibility, and global citizenship—preparing children not only for future schooling, but for life.

Enrichment & Extracurricular Classes
Montessori Program Benefits
A Welcoming Space
A Montessori classroom feels more like a home than a school. You won’t see desks, nor will a teacher stand at the front of the room delivering a lesson to the whole class. Instead, you’ll see children happily working individually or in small groups, at tables or on the floor with small rugs that designate their own space.
Open shelves display hands-on learning materials within easy reach, inviting children to make independent choices. Child sized furniture allows even the youngest students to take ownership of their space.
Every element of the environment is intentional—promoting order, focus, and a sense of capability. Teachers gently guide children in maintaining their environment, helping them develop practical life skills that naturally carry over into home routines and build a sense of responsibility.
The Montessori Advantage
Montessori education is best known for nurturing independence and supporting each child’s unique learning pace. But it also goes deeper—fostering empathy, social awareness, and a lifelong love of learning.
At Lakeside Montessori Academy, children are given the freedom and support to ask questions, explore deeply, and make meaningful connections. This approach cultivates confident, curious, and self-motivated learners who think critically, collaborate effectively, and face challenges with purpose—essential skills for success in today’s world and beyond.
Enrichment
<span ">We believe in nurturing the whole child through a variety of enriching experiences. Our program includes:
- Hands-on STEM activities that promote innovation and problem-solving
- Spanish classes to support early language development and cultural awareness
Nature studies in our gardens, where children explore plant life, observe seasonal changes, and learn to care for the natural world. Students help grow vegetables, tend to our fruit trees, and experience the joy of harvesting what they’ve nurtured—developing responsibility, patience, and a deeper appreciation for nature
These enrichment opportunities complement our Montessori curriculum, inspiring curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
Extracurricular Programs
Lakeside Montessori Academy offers a variety of extracurricular classes that allow children to explore new interests, develop skills, and have fun beyond the classroom. These optional programs are available after school. Classes include sports, robotics & stem club, dance, and soccer. These enrichment classes are led by experienced instructors and provide a well-rounded experience that supports both personal growth and joyful exploration.
